My new favorite baby item is the Baby Mozart dvd. Baby V has loved watching TV since he started to develop eye sight which obviously we do not condone but I think the brightness of the light attracts him to it. However, I found the perfect happy medium in the Baby Mozart
dvd that I got as a gift at my baby shower. It plays mozart while showing large, colorful, or black and white images, and other visually stimulating baby appropriate things. He absolutely loves it! I can put him in his little bouncy seat a safe distance from the TV and he is so happy and mesmerized by the beautiful music and interesting images. I think I might buy the other composers such as Baby Beethoven
and Baby Bach

Fab Baby Shop: Orfeo
How adorable are these clothes?? These are all from Orfeo, a gorgeous online children's store based out of London. I love the pussy willow onesie and ruffled blackbird shirt! I've been wanting a little red pointy gnome hat like that for Baby V. I think I might try to knit one like it but if I fail I'll definitely return to this store. They also have beautiful toys for babies and children as well.

Fab Artist: Wendy Wallin Malinow
One day while perusing the book store with my literary aunt when I was a little girl I found the most beautiful book I had ever seen on a table display. I loved fairies, and unicorns, and magic so this book seemed like the perfect book to me. It was intricately and colorfully illustrated in a way I had never seen before. The story was a long, mystical, and whimsical poem and best of all, at the back of the book was a little fold up fairy box you could make for fairies to live in! The book was Fairies from A to Z
written by Adrienne Keith and Illustrated by Wendy Wallin Malinow. I still have it and read it to my baby the other day although he is clearly too young to appreciate it right now. Unfortunately, the book is out of print but there are couple used copies being sold on Amazon and I would scoop those up ASAP especially if you have a little girl who would love it! So I looked up the artist and she also has some sculptural and jewelry work on her website.
Her site does not even do her artwork justice but here are a couple of her illustrations from the site:

11 & 12 weeks
I missed Baby V's 11 week post so I'm combining 11 & 12 weeks together.
Last Saturday Baby V rolled over for the first time!! It was unexpected and so exciting. He proceeded to roll over again 3 more times and then we couldn't get him to do it again for 2 more days! It's so amazing to see him grow stronger and learn his own abilities. He smiles all the time now and it is the best feeling in the world to make him smile even if it's by mistake (perhaps especially if it's by mistake). He's been sleeping in bed with us a lot lately. I start him out in his bassinet but eventually he ends up in bed with me and it is wonderful waking up next to a precious little sleeping baby who looks so peaceful in the middle of a big bed. He has also started batting and grabbing onto toys and objects hanging from his tummy time mats and seats.
We took him to the Boston Museum of Science on Monday and he was the most interested in the math room where there are a lot of large black and white patterned objects and prints on the walls. At the very least it was a visually stimulating trip for him!

*Love*
"This is what you shall do; Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body."

Fab mama
Ohh, I've been terrible recently, letting life take over and not going online as much as I should. However, I wanted this blog to not just be about food, art, and babies but about being fabulous and feeling great as a mother. Society sometimes makes it seem as if once you have children you can no longer be sexy or in style and as we all know, that is far from the truth. However, I definitely have not felt great about myself since having a baby and come to think of it I have never truly loved my body or felt fabulous even BEFORE the baby!
The Baby's Daddy and I just started the Marilu Henner 30 day Total Health Makeover. I'm going to document how it works here. We are both really excited about it and to be honest I'm very surprised he is doing this with me as it eliminates red meat! I only eat fish anyway so it will definitely be a little easier for me. The basis of the diet is eliminating red meat, sugar, and dairy from your diet and living your life toxin-free. Dairy will be the hardest for me as a vegetarian I have relied on it a lot to compensate for a lack of meat. However, I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel without it in my diet.
We are only on Day 2 and I am feeling great today. I need to incorporate some more exercise into my lifestyle and then I will feel much better. I will let you know how it goes! Visit her website for more information.

Fab Baby Shop: Sweet William
Oh dear, I am in love. Found via kenziepoo, some of you may have already heard of Sweet William. I, however, am just discovering the adorable-ness that is this children's store.
I have a soft spot for moccasins.
Baby V's Dad would definitely approve of this one.
If I had a girl she would definitely wear these bling shoes.
This toadstool is a night light!
Again, if I had a girl, she would sport this awesome feather headband.
